1- How do you plant a vine? Planting methods
Plant a vine: There are several methods of how to plant a vine. We briefly describe them. We can also observe the progressive increase in the technification of the plantation in viticulture.
2- Traditional planting by hand. Sowing the traditional vine.
A planting hole about 40 cm deep is made, and the vine plant is established. The hole can be made manually or by means of a mechanical hole drowning system.
3- Traditional vine planting by auger:
Another way to plant the grapes is with a metal bar 2-3cm in diameter and 1-1.30m long, a long cylindrical hole is made, where the plant is then placed. This method is less expensive than the previous one.
4- Traditional by auger with water:
This way of planting vines is similar to the previous one, but the bar is hollow and at the same time that the planting is carried out more easily due to the availability of water, a water supply is made, which is essential to have a good plantation.
5- Semi-mechanized plantation with tractor:
The tractor has a subsoiler that opens the soil and facilitates the placement of the plant. It is perfectly seen in the vineyard plantation video below.
6- Planting the vineyard fully automatic by GPS:
It is the maximum mechanization of the vineyard plantation. Same system as the previous one, but automating the placement of the plant. This system requires large surfaces and flat terrain to be used.
7- Important about the vineyard planting:
The orography of the land will limit the system to be used. Nor can all systems be used with the same soil conditions. Soil moisture and soil compaction will also limit the planting method used.
For any of the different types of plantations, a plantation irrigation is recommended and advised .
It is important to control the height at which the vine is planted .
Both excess and under-burying of vine plants can be harmful.
