1- AUGUST: veraison, ripening.

Description of the work to be carried out in the vineyard during the month of August.


2- Vegetation control

If the vigor has not been controlled effectively and there is shading of the fruit, make a topping.


3- Phytosanitary treatments

Control of pests and diseases . Continue with phytosanitary treatments if necessary.


4- Irrigation

Control soil moisture . If a strategy with a water deficit was being carried out, it should be finalized and provided with abundant irrigation to increase soil moisture levels.

Water consumption in this phase is high.


5- New plantations

Continue training in young vineyards .

New plantations: Deep work to prepare the land for new plantations.


6- Bodega

Prepare and paint the grape reception containers with food grade paint.

Start the control of the ripening of the grapes: º Baumé, pH and acidity.

Carry out a weekly ripening control.

Confirm and organize the availability of personnel , grape harvesters, trailers and transport.

Inspection of the vineyard with a winery technician and assess corrective actions if necessary.

One week before harvest , make an estimate of the production according to the average weight of the bunches and inform the winery.
